Fountain Pens United States of America and United Kingdom The success of Fountain Pens of the World inspired the author, Andreas Lambrou to continue documenting the history of fountain pens and their industry. This time, he focused on specific countries, giving more details and updates on the history and pen models.
Handy format, 7 x 10 inches with 256 pages, cloth bound Editorial Review
The book contains authoritative and comprehensive text on the history of the fountain pen and its industry in the United States of America and United Kingdom.
Previously unpublished companies and pens are documented in the book. The pens are beautifully shown through the highest quality photography thus highlighting their beauty and craftsmanship.
"This book is without doubt the best guide to British fountain pens. The history is clear and concise. The colour reproduction of the pens is stunning and faithful... this book does true justice to British pens" There are 540 individual color plates of pens in the book. It is a costly process but worthwhile as the models are represented more faithfully than ever before.
The highest quality professional photographs in the book illustrate the pens life-size for easy identification. Guy Ryecart Photography Limited, a professional studio specializing in pen photography was commissioned to capture photos of pens from companies not published before in a book.
Lenya Lambrou, daughter of the author, created 60 specially commissioned hand produced line drawings of pens demonstrating the evolution of the fountain pens through the ages in a unique and exciting manner.
Period advertisements complement the text and photographs. They have been reproduced in sepia to recreate the feel of the era when the ads first came out.
