The LS 11 Nihonrisu (Squirrels) was launched in 2004. Squirrels are a symbol of trust. They are friendly, playful, energetic and plan well ahead for the future. The composition shows a pair of playing squirrels on a tree surrounded by leaves. The artist has created a unique texture making the pen body look similar to the tree bark. This textured background is sweet to the touch and to our knowledge is novel for fountain pens.

The Nihonrisu is a three dimensional composition. The Maki-E artist is Shogetsu Mitani. He is famous for his art on various Japanese objects including tea containers. Some of his creations have been purchased by the Japanese government to be used for ceremonial occasions.

The Maki-E techniques on the Nihonrisu composition are Togidashi,  Taka (raised) and the texturing of the pen body.

All LS designs carry the Red Seal signature of the creating artist. The Nihonrisu, bears the prestigious Red Seal signature of the artist of Shogetsu Mitani. He also paints the individual limited edition number of the pen on the barrel end.

A certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, Masa Sunami and Andreas Lambrou accompanies each pen.

The LS11 Nihonrisu is official and carries the Parker Duofold warranty and after sales service. The Maki-E work is guaranteed by Classic Pens.
