The creation of a new Maki-E design entails discussion of the theme with the artist. Invariably, a number of Artist Proofs are created. Finally, selection is made of the design(s) to represent the series.

With most designs, it is possible for us to create unique pieces to customers’ specification.

The LB2 Kimono is a blend of natural urushi colors, pure gold and silver. The two designs which represent the series are Shinrin (Forest) and Sakyu (Desert). These are shown below along with Artist Proofs and unique pieces created for individual customers.
